Estate Planning

Bellevue, Washington Estate Planning Lawyer

Honesty ◊ Integrity ◊ Availability

If you are concerned about how your assets will be distributed upon your death or who will take care of your minor children, but you have not put a formal estate plan in place, you want an experienced attorney to guide you through the process. There are many different strategies available to help you minimize the tax burden on your estate and efficiently pass your property on to those you love. You want a lawyer who will listen carefully to your concerns and help you create and implement a plan that meets your needs.

At the law office of Gregory G. Rockwell, I work closely with individuals and families who want to establish and implement effective plans for the distribution of assets and the care of minor children in the event of death. I have 40 years of experience and have a commitment to staying abreast of all developments in estate planning law. For a private consultation, contact my office or call me at 425-453-4398.

My Estate Planning Practice

I help individuals establish contingency plans for the management or distribution of assets in the event of death, disability, incompetence, financial insolvency or divorce. When developing an estate plan, we will start with questions so that I can get a comprehensive understanding of your financial situation, as well as your goals. Next, I will carefully explain the different strategies for accomplishing your objectives, including the use of wills and trusts, the re-titling of property to avoid probate, and the use of lifetime gifts.

Once you have determined which approach will best meet your needs, I will prepare and execute all the documentation necessary to put your plan in place, including:

  • Wills-a will is a legal document that provides direction for the distribution of assets, the payment of final obligations and, when applicable, the care of minor children.
  • Trusts-a trust transfers the ownership of property for you, so that your estate does not have to go through probate at time of death.
  • Powers of attorney-a power of attorney allows you to give another person the legal authority to act on your behalf.
  • Health Care Directives - a health care directive is designed to protect your privileged information and give specific directions regarding your end-of-life care.
